Influenced by records she grew up listening to, Jess creates Indie-Soul music that blends singer-songwriter roots with blues, R&B, country and rock ‘n’ roll. She writes songs with intricate melodies and emotionally resonant lyrics, drawing inspiration from artists like Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas, and TRAIN.
Raised in a small Alberta hamlet, Jess was mentored by elder musicians before earning a Diploma in Vocal Performance from Grant MacEwan University. She has since written, recorded and produced her solo EP, Revealed. Her performances range from intimate cafes, restaurants and pubs to larger stages, including a cross-Canada tour with VIA Rail and a show at the Calgary Stampede.
Beyond the stage, Jess shares her passion for music as an instructor. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and plans to pursue a Master’s in Counselling, with the goal of integrating music and psychology to support the well-being of creative children and teens.
